June and my visit to see Maggie seems so long ago already. It was an incredible time though as always and I cherish the memories! The first day I arrived almost felt like two days I still actually get confused with what we all did, because I was up at 3:30 A.M. to make my 6:30 A.M. flight! (Note to self I will never do that ever again!) I am pretty sure we got massages first thing in the morning.....but I do know for sure that in the afternoon we went to the horse races at Arlington. I loved horses and all horse movies growing up and have always wanted to go to the races! Being there kept reminding me of National Velvet. Dream come true, and it was a great experience!
Let the gambling begin!
Maggie the "expert" of the group showing us how to bet on the horses!
So we went home a little poorer..........oh well, it was worth it. We had so much fun trying to figure out how to bet on the horses, gave up on that and just went with the horses with the best names! That honestly worked the best ha ha!
The weather was perfect, hardly a cloud in sight, awesome company and beautiful horses! I would definitely do this again!
Have you been to the races before?
Ciao,
Rachel
I love this post and all of these fun photos!!! That was such a fun day! I wish I could fit in one more day at the races this sumer. I'm glad I could take you when you were in town. Sorry, I wasn't much of a help when it came to betting. I wish I knew what I was really doing. We need someone to teach us next time!
ReplyDeleteMy uncle owns a few horses that he races here in Trinidad. I've been to the races many times because of him. When I was younger, I too used to bet on the horse that had the prettiest name. Now, I always bet on my uncle's horse because he's a winner! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend an afternoon ... It does look like something right out of National Velvet! And the color in these photos is stunning!!
