I have been keeping busy this summer that is for sure! I wouldn't have it any other way! You only live once do what you want now not tomorrow! Each day is a gift from God that we walk on this earth, don't take it for granted!
1) I passed my deputy black belt test! It was a really fun day and an unforgettable experience! I had no idea what to expect from black belt testing. I went into it open minded and without any expectations, other then to be in the present moment and enjoy it. That is one thing that I wish I would have done more of in my figure skating days, instead of stressing out about it! I was too worried about perfect then! Now it's on to first degree!
2) I got hired at the Figure Skating Club here in town! I am so excited to be starting on one of my dreams in figure skating! I have said that I wanted to be a coach since I was in high school. I did coach for a few years in high school and into college but haven't done it since! I finally got on it and made it happen! It will be awhile before I get students because that's just how it goes. I have to wait for them to contact me if they want to take lessons from me. Patients....the story of my life:) That's okay though good things come to those who wait!
I can now say that I am recognized by United States Figure Skating as a figure skating coach! After taking three tests and registering as a figure skating coach! It's true nothing in figure skating is easy! I can now stand at the boards and put students on the ice for non qualifying competitions and US Figure Skating tests! So cool!
3) I can hardly believe this one but.....I'm going to ROME and Ireland! It's another dream come true! I am so excited! It happened kind of spur the moment and as a joke actually! A friend of mine said he was going to Rome and I said
"What? and you're not taking me?! Haha so he says you should seriously come with us!
Me: "You shouldn't say stuff like that to me because you know how I am!"
Him: "Yeah I know I can't believe you don't have a ticket yet!"
Hahaha
And so a week later I bought my ticket to Ireland! And from there Rome!
It may have been a rough start to the year, some pretty sweet things have happened too and I am incredibly grateful for them:)
